I wanted to update the forum about the Cell tower they wanted to put in the local park. I was encouraged by the responses that any TB could do the trick to neutralize it, but i had other ideas too… just say no to the provider. anyway, there was a big public meeting about the issue. i provided some vital information to the community that needed to convince politicians not to allow the provider to set up in the park. I got this note this morning:
“hi *********”
your e-mail was very helpful to clarify that the Parks and Recreation Department is like any property owner that is approached by a cell company inquiring about the use of their land for their cell facilities, that land owner can simply say NO, they don’t have to justify why …….so thank you for that insight because it was addressed at the meeting tonight!!!………it was a fantastic turnout, many parents speaking against the proposal because of their children–not your typical person who shows up for meetings. On a very positive note, the people who did show up want to support the Parks and Rec department in finding solutions to their projects that need money and manpower without accepting a cell tower on public park property in such proximity to the schools.
and you were right… t-mobile did begin their presentation by reading the Telecommunication Act, but my point and the last person who spoke clarified the Telecommunications Act application (thanks again to you)….i believe the parks and rec dept got that along with the huge opposition.
since there was only 3 board members there, the decision was tabled until the full board will meet on march 16th…."
small victory… just say no. here’s one we don’t have to tune up with orgonite!
