"Despite a strong global economy and near full employment, none of the four societal institutions that the study measures—government, business, NGOs and media—is trusted."

September 10, 2019 - Why don’t people vote ? Five causes of voter apathy

A large chunk of the UK public choose not to vote in political elections. We reveal five reasons why this might be the case.

January 17, 2020 - In the 2016 election, more than a third of Americans didn’t vote. What might be keeping them from going to the polls ?

Cons, short for “confidence games”, can succeed only when the self-described “con artist” gains and holds the trust of the person they want to take advantage of.

As you read the news accounts that I’ve gathered below, you’ll see how the “big lie” confidence game being run upon humanity is collapsing.

One headline, from 2015, is headlined “Have you ever felt like the government doesn’t really care what you think?”

It reads “Professors Martin Gilens (Princeton University) and Benjamin I. Page (Northwestern University) looked at more than 20 years worth of data to answer a simple question: Does the government represent the people? What they found was extremely unsettling: The opinions of 90% of Americans have essentially no impact at all .”

People in the U.S. get it, and people in the U.K. get it, which is why huge amounts of people don’t vote in those countries.

The folks in charge are all from of a single bloodline, and have been, well, all the way back to Babylon and before. In every nation, they seek and hold political office, all pretending to not know one another, all pretending to not be working together. Great effort is expended at creating the illusion of separateness, so that there is polarization, so that some subset of the starry-eyed may select “R”, and some may select “D” when they enter the voting booth.

I’ve voted twice in my life, once when I was very young, and browbeaten into it, and once about then years ago, when I was once again browbeaten into it.

My perspective was (and continues to be) that I was being given a choice of two candidates, both of whom were on the take. Over time, my understanding of the minutae of what “on the take” means has increased by large margin, but the basic understanding has remained the same.

September 26, 2019 - Americans’ Trust in Mass Media Edges Down to 41%

September 16, 2016 - For Every 10 U.S. Adults, Six Vote and Four Don’t.

Can you see how basically 40% of the populace knows what’s up? 40% of the are populace are voting with their feet, by walking away from the voting booth. 40% of the populace “does not watch the news.” That’s very close to a majority. And “majority rules”, goes the saying.

I think they’re losing control of the game.

Their most-ancient confidence game is tipping closer and closer to collapse.

Remember, when cons collapse, they do so in a rush, like a house of cards.

2015 - Have you ever felt like the government doesn’t really care what you think ?

Professors Martin Gilens (Princeton University) and Benjamin I. Page (Northwestern University) looked at more than 20 years worth of data to answer a simple question: Does the government represent the people?

Their study took data from nearly 2000 public opinion surveys and compared it to the policies that ended up becoming law. In other words, they compared what the public wanted to what the government actually did. What they found was extremely unsettling: The opinions of 90% of Americans have essentially no impact at all .

January 19, 2020 - 2020 Edelman Trust Barometer

The 2020 Edelman Trust Barometer reveals that despite a strong global economy and near full employment, none of the four societal institutions that the study measures—government, business, NGOs and media—is trusted. The cause of this paradox can be found in people’s fears about the future and their role in it, which are a wake-up call for our institutions to embrace a new way of effectively building trust: balancing competence with ethical behavior.

February 16, 2020 - Do you trust science ? These five factors play a big role

The public also has higher perceived levels of trust in certain professional groups that typically communicate science over others, according to the report presented by Sturgis. While 83% of the public is likely to believe scientific advice that comes from a doctor and a nurse, only 55% said they trust scientific information when it comes from a government source .
