The big breakthrough of this article is how the Chinese got Enterovirus D-68 from the U.S. in 2006, let the non-neurologically impactful version travel through the Chinese populace for a bit, and then
released a genetically-modified version on the rest of the world in 2011.

Now, let's take a walk back through some of the more famous engineered viruses released upon the populace in recent decades.

The AIDS pandemic originated with
a polio vaccine that was administered to inhabitants of Equatorial
Africa from 1957 to 1959.
The Avian Flu, or Asian H5N1 was first detected in 1996 in geese in China. Asian H5N1 was first detected in humans in 1997 during a poultry outbreak in
Hong Kong and has since been detected in poultry and wild birds in more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Human enterovirus 71 (EV-A71) causes hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD). EV-A71 circulates in many countries and has caused large epidemics,
especially in the Asia-Pacific region, since 1997.
The SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV) originated in horseshoe bats in Hong Kong and mainland
China, and first infected humans in the Guangdong province of southern
China in 2002.
"EV-D68 has been rarely detected since its first identification in 1962. Based on the enterovirus surveillance data,
only 36 cases were identified from 1970 to 2005 in the USA. However, EV-D68 infection in patients with respiratory tract infections (RTIs) increased markedly in recent years worldwide possibly due to the viral genome variation.6, 7, 8,
9, 10, 11, 12"

I reviewed those seven documents, and learned that it was snoresville from 1962 until 2006, when the virus somehow jumped over from the U.S. to China. Yet, "these cases were sporadic and did not display neurological symptoms."
Then it went big with neurological impact in the Philippines and the Netherlands in 2011, and then in Norway and the U.S. in 2014.
The same scholarly article on the subject says "More cases were detected in
different geographical locations in subsequent years by different groups.15, 16, 17, 18, 19".

I checked all five of those sources, and all they talk about is China. It's pure "chaff", downplaying China's central role in the development of the weaponized pathogen.
