French H1N1 Vaccination Campaign

Hello everybody,

I picked up the morning paper on the way to class this morning. I scanned them so you can see what kind of BS they are feeding people here.

Quick summarized translation :

Front Page :
Get Vaccinated ! The campaign of vaccination against the H1N1 virus has started today at the meeting room at the town hall and at the Yves-du-Manoir stadium. The doctors from the CHU (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, that translates itself) and the SAMU (French emergency response, fire, police, accident, etc.) recommend getting the shot. See page 3.

Page 3 :
“The vaccine is ready, so tell people around you to go and get it !”

… " There are rumors about toxic materials used in making the vaccines, but I can assure you, they are 100% safe."
… " It will take place at 4 designated places around the city between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM today for the immune deficient and pregnant women and children (also people with diabetes). The vaccine is covered by Social Security (Assurance Maladie) and a coupon will be sent to those cited, and later on for all other cases."

… “There is no risk, for children between 6 and 24 months and for pregnant women we are distributing a vaccine without solvents”
… “Last month the percentage of positivity was at 3% and has now jumped to 30%. It is coming.”

— Notice the last phrase there, what a schmuck.

… “80% of all medical personnel have been vaccinated these last three weeks. Says the professor, so, convinced now ?”

Like they expect me to believe him. What a joke !

… “94 millions doses available and for every French resident. 1060 vaccination centers, + a second vaccine after a period of three weeks.”

… " Schedule : 11th of November, vaccines for priority people (med staff, pregnant women, people with weak immune systems. 25th of november elementary students will be asked to go to vaccination centers and Middle School and High School students will be vaccinated directly school."

Page 12 : says the same thing but in more detail.

I don’t need to translate any more, you guys get the gist. I can’t wait until the day I go to class and they walk in with the vaccine and I just say NO ! [Image Can Not Be Found] (BTW, so many French people were upset about a “mandatory” vaccination that they had to change it’s status to “optional but recommended”. But that doesn’t stop them from trying to shove it down our throats now does it.

They’re trying to push this state of fear into people here, but the French are pretty aware about what’s going on, and don’t like things being forced on them. We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.
