Where the general “by five years” redacts the percentage increase, and where the date of the previous record is also redacted.
The author also didn’t mention that longevity was increasing regardless of species or geography.
Those are examples of the propaganda technique known as “stonewalling”.

So now anglers have something to aim for.”

Here, “relatively new to the tournament” and “becoming quite popular” play the ruse that the blueline tilefish had been out there in the Atlantic Ocean off Delaware, all along, only nobody in the tournament thought to catch one, or submit it if they did, in fact catch it.
