In March 2025, the 51.4% year-over-year decrease in murders in New York City was 63.6% greater, or almost two thirds greater than their 34.4% year-over-year decrease in the 1st Quarter of 2025.

The subhead reads “sifting through the evidence early in the year”, where Jeff painted the picture that the hyper-exponential decrease in violence and crime was difficult to discern.
