“If you set yourself to it, you can live the same life, rich or poor. You can keep on with your books and your ideas. You just got to say to yourself, “I’m a free man in here” - he tapped his forehead - "and you’re all right.”
― From “Down and Out in Paris and London”, by George Orwell, 1933
I’ve been a cyclist all my life. In San Francisco in the mid-80’s, my buddy Steve and I rode side by side in traffic like motorcycle cops, dominating by position, forming a box to keep people from hitting us.
Cycling on the streets was unspeakably hostile. In the late 1980s’, bike messengers from New York came to the early Mountain Bike Weekends in Jim Thorpe, PA, telling stories of members of their crew who’d been killed, ridden down.
So, for me, to live to see this revolution is just staggering.
Bike lanes in every city. People from all walks of life riding bikes like it’s 1890.
We’re living through the process of this great new world coming into being, and the most bizarre thing is that nobody talks about it.
(That’s me, Jeff Miller, in Brooklyn, New York, Covin-19 lockdown, 2020.)
THE DATA
From 2019 to 2020, U.S. bicycle sales increased by 15% , from $6.1 billion to $7 billion. Statista.com’s Felix Richter omitted the percentage entirely, and referred to it only-generally as "up ". In terms of what drove it, he said that it was “pandemic-fueled .”
From 2021 to 2022, the international bicycle market increased by 11% , from 57.3 billion euros to 63.36 billion euros. In May 2022, Statista.com’s Felix Richter widened his eyes to simulate honesty and said “Pandemic-Fueled Bicycle Boom Is Losing Speed”.
From January to October 2022, Shimano’s bicycle sales increased by 21%, year-over-year. The uncredited author from Bicycle Retailer omitted the percentage from the headline, and said only-generally that it was "above pre pandemic levels ".
In the 1st Quarter of 2022, international wearable technology sales decreased by 3%, year-over-year. IDC’s Jitesh Ubrani omitted the statistic from the headline, and referred to the sudden decrease in wearable sales as a “decline”, and “cooling demand”. He said it was “as consumers begin to spend more in categories outside of wearables following years of precipitous growth that were further amplified during the pandemic”.
In the 2nd Quarter of 2022, international wearable technology shipments decreased by 7%, year-over-year. channellife.com’s Mitchell Hageman omitted the percentage from the headline, and referred to the sudden, exponential decrease only as “significant”.
He said it was because of "rising inflation , fears surrounding recession , increased spending on other non-tech categories, and the hypergrowth that the market has experienced in the last two years ".
In the 2nd Quarter of 2022, the 7% decrease in international wearable sales was 133% greater, or well more than double their 3% decrease in the 1st Quarter of 2022. The great positive change is increasing exponentially, going forward in time.
On October 3, 2022, directly in the face of these exponentially decreasing wearable technology sales, medicaldevice-network.com widened its eyes to simulate honesty and said "Wearable technology market continues to rise ".
In December 2022, directly in the face of exponentially increasing bicycle sales, ft.com widened its eyes to simulate honesty and said "The punctured global bike boom could yet receive a boost ".
THE ARTICLES
On May 13, 2022, directly in the face of strongly increasing bicycle sales, statista.com said “Chart: Pandemic-Fueled Bicycle Boom Is Losing Speed”.
Where author Felix Richter wrote “Pandemic-fueld bicycle boom is losing speed" because, as a propagandist, they know that seventy percent of readers only read the headlines, and their hedging generality goes a long way toward “compartmentalizing” awareness of the scope of the exponential increase in bicycle sales that he’s attempting to obfuscate. It’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”.
In journalistic parlance, he “buried” this in the body text below:
“According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Americans spent $7.0 billion on bicycles and accessories in 2020, up from $6.1 billion the year before.”
You may have noticed that, while Felix provided the numbers, he carefully hedged by omitting the far more impactful percentage increase between them. It’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”.
Let’s read a version written by an honest person:
From 2019 to 2020, U.S. bicycle sales increased by 15%, from $6.1 billion to $7 billion. Statista.com’s Felix Richter omitted the percentage entirely, and referred to it only-generally as “up”. In terms of what drove it, he said that it was “pandemic-fueled.”
On June 7, 2022, idc.com said “Wearables Market Sees First Decline at Beginning of 2022 as Demand Normalizes, According to IDC”.
Where author Jitesh Ubrani wrote “sees first decline" because, as a propagandist, they know that seventy percent of readers only read the headlines, and their hedging generality goes a long way toward “compartmentalizing” awareness of the scope of the exponential decrease in wearable technology consumption that he’s attempting to obfuscate. It’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”.
He said “sees first decline” to walk it back a step from the wearables market actually experiencing it.
In journalistic parlance, Jitesh “buried” this in the body text below:
“The global wearables market faced its first-ever decline during the first quarter of 2022 (1Q22) as unit shipments totaled 105.3 million units, down 3.0% year over year, according to new data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker. The decline is largely attributable to cooling demand as consumers begin to spend more in categories outside of wearables following years of precipitous growth that were further amplified during the pandemic.”
Now let’s read a version written by an honest person:
In the 1st Quarter of 2022, international wearable technology sales decreased by 3%, year-over-year. IDC’s Jitesh Ubrani omitted the statistic from the headline, and referred to the sudden decrease in wearable sales as a “decline”, and “cooling demand”. He said it was “as consumers begin to spend more in categories outside of wearables following years of precipitous growth that were further amplified during the pandemic”.
Here’s Jitesh Ubrani’s picture, where the image is deliberately off-center so that Jitesh’s left eye is the focal point of the picture:
(IDC’s Jitesh Ubrani, where the image is deliberately off-center so that Jitesh’s left eye is the focal point of the picture. That’s because, to followers of the Left-hand path like Jitesh, the left eye is the “eye of Will” or “the eye of Horus”. He figured that the rubes would never notice the coded visual imagery.)

On August 25, 2022, clubindustry.com said "Peloton Reports Q4 2022 Revenue Decline of 28 Percent, Plans to Break Even in Second Half 2023 ".
Where the author tacked “Peloton reports” on the front end of the headline to give the subconscious of the Coincidence theorist reader the green light to say “oh, but someone at Peloton must have reported that incorrectly!” or “oh, but that was just one report!” As propagandists, they know that many or most readers will grasp virtually any straw, no matter how thin, to remain off the hook of personal responsibility.
The article goes on to say “This quarter was the sixth consecutive quarter of declining revenue for Peloton, which is undergoing major changes to better position it financially after a surge in sales during the COVID-19 pandemic followed by declining sales as the pandemic wanes.”
Now let’s read a version written by an honest person:
In the 4th Quarter of 2022, Peloton’s revenue decreased by 28%. It was their sixth consecutive quarter of decreasing revenue.
On September 20, 2022, channellife.com said “IDC data shows significant decline in wearable tech shipments”.
Where author Mitchell Hageman wrote “significant decline" because, as a propagandist, they know that seventy percent of readers only read the headlines, and their hedging generality goes a long way toward “compartmentalizing” awareness of the scope of the exponential decrease in wearable technology consumption that he’s attempting to obfuscate. It’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”.
He said “data shows significant decline” to give the suconscious of the Coincidence theorist reader the green light to say “oh, but that data must be incorrect!” or “oh, but they can make the data show anything!” Mitchell knows that many or most readers will grasp virtually any straw, no matter how thin, to remain off the hook of personal responsibility.
In journalistic parlance, Mitchell “buried” this in the body text below:
“New research from IDC through IDC Tracker has revealed the wearable technology market has faced a challenging second quarter, with global shipments declining 6.9% year over year to 107.4 million units.”
Now let’s read a version written by an honest person:
In the 2nd Quarter of 2022, international wearable technology shipments decreased by 7%, year-over-year. channellife.com’s Mitchell Hageman omitted the percentage from the headline, and referred to the sudden, exponential decrease only as “significant”.
He said it was because of “rising inflation, fears surrounding recession, increased spending on other non-tech categories, and the hypergrowth that the market has experienced in the last two years”.
Can you see how Mitchell used four different plausible-deniability excuses? That’s to give the subconscious of the Coincidence theorist reader a smorgasbord to choose from, and also to provide the ability to say “he couldn’t possibly be lying about four different things!”
In the 2nd Quarter of 2022, the 7% decrease in international wearable sales was 133% greater, or well more than double their 3% decrease in the 1st Quarter of 2022.
The great positive change is increasing exponentially, going forward in time.

On October 3, 2022, directly in the face of exponentially decreasing wearable technology sales, medicaldevice-network.com widened its eyes to simulate honesty and said “Wearable technology market continues to rise”.
They said “continues to rise” because rise" is softer than “dropped” or “decreased”, but mostly as an insider-wink to the Atonist Black Sun cult that’s ruled things in all the nations all the way back to Babylon and before.
On October 5, 2022, bicycleretailer.com snidely said “Shimano says bike demand is above pre-pandemic levels”.
Where the uncredited author from Bicycle Retailer wrote “above pre-pandemic levels" because, as a propagandist, they know that seventy percent of readers only read the headlines, and their hedging generality goes a long way toward “compartmentalizing” awareness of the scope of the exponential in bicycle sales that they are attempting to obfuscate. It’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”.
For those unaware, anytime an author is uncredited, it is proof that said author is an Intelligence operative.
In journalistic parlance, the uncredited operative from the State propaganda organ known as “Bicycle Retailer” “buried” this in the body text below:
“Sales in company’s bike segment are up 21% year to date.”
Now let’s read a version written by an honest person:
From January to October 2022, Shimano’s bicycle sales increased by 21%, year-over-year. The uncredited author from Bicycle Retailer omitted the percentage from the headline, and said only-generally that it was “above pre pandemic levels”.
On November 25, 2022, welovecycling.com said “Despite the supply chain crisis caused by the pandemic crisis, the bike industry continues to grow. The global bicycle market size was estimated at 57.3 billion euros in 2021 and is expected to reach a value of 63.36 billion in 2022.”
Where the uncredited author from We Love Cycling wrote “continues to grow" because, as a propagandist, they know that seventy percent of readers only read the headlines, and their hedging generality goes a long way toward “compartmentalizing” awareness of the scope of the exponential increase in bicycle sales that they are attempting to obfuscate. It’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”.
