U Win Kyaing, the Myanmar Fisheries Federatkion’s Secretary General, said “That’s a slight increase in export volume and revenue compared to the same period last year. Where the Illuminist talking head shill quoted in the mainstream news publication called the largest one-year increase in fisheries volume in the history of the nation of 18% “slight”.
Since the article was published in a year of record fish abundance, the hedge “set” is used, because the only-general “dive” in fish exports is fictitious, and in the future. It’s also a thinly-veiled reference to their great god Set, whom they’ve worshipped in various guises all the way back to Babylon, and before.

On September 20, 2019, xinhuanet.com said “Myanmar's fishery export up in first 11 months of FY 2018-19”. Where I’m sure you noticed that the author used the general “up” as a general hedge in place of the far more impactful, specific percentage, which I was forced to do the math to learn. That’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”. It’s a 1.5% increase.
Two months later, in November 2019, coming off two straight years of fishery exports increasing to their highest levels in history, despite the controlled press averring they would do otherwise, the New Straights Times said “Myanmar pushing for higher standard to boost fisheries”. Because the populace is so dim and unquestioning, they’ve completely missed the record increases in fisheries production, and will credulously believe it, later, when the same controlled press says “Myanmar’s push for fishery boosting succeeds!”
In May 2020, Bloomberg said “Collapse in Myanmar Seafood Exports Puts 1 Millon Jobs at Risk”.
Two months later, in July 2020, Global New Light of Myanmar said “Fishery exports soar to over $700 mln in 2019-2020FY”. I’m sure you noticed that the author carefully omitted any mention of volume in the headline.
I had to dig down into the article and do the math to learn that fishery export volume in Myanmar increased 14% in volume in January to June 2020, year-over-year. I’ve once again exposed the duplicity of the controlled press, in this case the esteemed Bloomberg, by using what was known in the old days as fact-checking.
The folks in charge are not your friends, and are lying to you about basically everything, including fisheries exports in Myanmar.
You can only recognize them by the codified, highly-repetitive way in which they speak, and write.
They’re hiding in plain sight in every city, town and village on Earth, figuring the rubes would never notice.
