The following is a story from my friend Yannis about a TB which turned to powder . Is it possible ?

I do not know if anybody has ever experianced something like this…
My wife had given a TB to a friend and she was keeping it in her handbag.
One day she found nothing but powder where the TB should be…
It was a powder-like material much lesser in mass than a normal TB.
No metal savings, no broken crystals, no pieces of hardened resin and…
of course no reason for the TB to be damaged.
She is sure that the TB was there earlier as she slightly removed it in order
not to scratch her mobile phone.
She is also sure that nobody else approached her or her handbag during the
crucial time – nothing else valuable or not was missing.
Unfortunately she cleaned the bug up before she come and tell us what happened.
