This is a reprint of “Don’t Be Evil”, which I originally published to this mailing list on October 21, 2021. It is, in turn, a redux of an article I wrote back on Don Croft’s Etheric Warriors forum.
DON’T BE EVIL
"We did not enter the search business. They entered the phone business. Make no mistake they want to kill the iPhone. We won’t let them.”
“I want to go back to that other question first and say one more thing. This don’t be evil mantra: It’s bullshit.” (Audience roars)”
Steve Jobs, 2010
Wikipedia – “Don’t be evil” is the motto of Google’s corporate code of conduct, first introduced around 2000.
“Don’t be evil.” Googlers generally apply those words to how we serve our users. But “Don’t be evil” is much more than that. Yes, it’s about providing our users unbiased access to information, focusing on their needs and giving them the best products and services that we can. But it’s also about doing the right thing more generally – following the law, acting honorably, and treating co-workers with courtesy and respect.
The Google Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put “Don’t be evil” into practice. It’s built around the recognition that everything we do in connection with our work at Google will be, and should be, measured against the highest possible standards of ethical business conduct. We set the bar that high for practical as well as aspirational reasons: Our commitment to the highest standards helps us hire great people, build great products, and attract loyal users. Trust and mutual respect among employees and users are the foundation of our success, and they are something we need to earn every day.
So please do read the Code, and follow both its spirit and letter, always bearing in mind that each of us has a personal responsibility to incorporate, and to encourage other Googlers to incorporate, the principles of the Code into our work. And if you have a question or ever think that one of your fellow Googlers or the company as a whole may be falling short of our commitment, don’t be silent. We want – and need – to hear from you.”
Steve Jobs saying that Google’s “don’t be evil” motto was bullshit was probably the moment when the use of a fast-acting cancer weapon upon him was authorized.
As soon as Google appeared, I said to everyone I knew “that’s bullshit - they’re not making this much money from selling advertising in the borders of web pages!”
On Don Croft’s old Etheric Warriors forum, a member whose name I can no longer recall said “Google is the NSA’s clown name”.
In 2013, Shawn Levy directed “The Internship”, a movie starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as interns at Google. Can you see how the word “Google” isn’t used in the name of the propaganda film?

In December 2013, Entrepreneur said “Google Snaps Up Company Whose Robots Remind People of ‘Terminator’ Movies”.
(These robots include BigDog, which can lift and throw heavy objects, WildCat, a noisy, galloping quadruped and Cheetah, the fastest land robot in the world, which can run more than 28 miles per hour. Boston Dynamics is also developing humanoid robots designed to work in hazardous environments.)
The words “mystery”, “baffled” and “puzzled” are memes, used, among numerous similar variants, whenever anyone in the wholly-controlled-and-coopted Political, Academic, Scientific and Media establishments wants to lie about, well, basically anything. That’s why an aol.com article from February 2014 said “State: Google must move ‘mystery’ barge”.
In February 2014, I said “The key word in this headline is ‘State’, you know, as in ‘State Secession’? Filed under ‘not having it all their own way, by any means, these days’: the S.S. Baal, which you may know as Google’s ‘mystery barge’, is being forced to move. I’ve dubbed it the S.S. Baal because it’s got BAL in its number code. They’ve got two of these supposed ‘glitzy product display centers’, lined with what the lying lapdog press calls ‘rows of flagpoles on top’. Oh, wait…now they’re telling me it’s an "interactive space for people to learn about technology.’ It’s an antenna-festooned DOR deployment platform, I think.”
The aol article goes on to say “Google must move its mystery barge from a construction site on an island in the middle of the San Francisco Bay because the permits are not in order, a state official said Monday.
The notice came after the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission investigated numerous complaints about the construction of the floating, four-story building, commission executive director Larry Goldzband said. The investigation found that neither the Treasure Island Development Authority nor the city of San Francisco had applied for required permits for the work to be done at the site. Goldzband said Google can resolve the issue by moving the barge to one of the fully permitted construction facilities in the San Francisco Bay.
“It needs to move,” he said. Google did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Mirian Saez, director of the Treasure Island Development Authority, said, “we did not intend to violate or circumvent the process.” The authority will try to apply for the correct permits with the commission, she said, noting her agency has not spoken to Google about the issue.
Preliminary planning documents submitted to the port last fall showed plans for Google to build an interactive space for people to learn about technology. The documents ended months of speculation that the barge would be a party boat, data storage center or a store for Google to sell its Internet-connected glasses.”

That’s why the article goes on “Google has had little to say about the barge or another vessel off the East Coast. In November, the company issued a statement that said, “Although it’s still early days and things may change, we’re exploring using the barge as an interactive space where people can learn about new technology.” Goldzband said the construction in San Francisco Bay was not authorized by the agency, and the Treasure Island Development Authority, which allowed the project, could face fines and enforcement proceedings.

The disclosure by the California agency marked the second set of permit problems for the barge project. Late last year, work was halted after the Coast Guard said additional permits were needed.
In February 2014, I said “They probably had to develop something movable, on the water, because their Maginot Line-like land-based Death tech is so completely vulnerable to $3 chunks of resin and metal and crystal, otherwise known as ‘TB’s’. The other Google barge is in a remote area of Maine, where, you know, lots of Google gadget purchasers are feverishly awaiting to board it. Notice how the article doesn’t mention the one in Maine?
Anyway, the State is making them move it. Notice also how people are speaking up, e.g. ‘numerous complaints’. I guess they didn’t buy the cuddly image presented in that neat Google movie.”
The words “mystery”, “baffled” and “puzzled” are memes, used, among numerous similar variants, whenever anyone in the wholly-controlled-and-coopted Political, Academic, Scientific and Media establishments wants to lie about, well, basically anything. That’s why a Fortune article from August 2014 said “Mysterious Google barge destined for the scrap yard.“
The article goes on to say “Parts of the $4 million boat, located in Portland, Maine, are being sold for scrap, a Google spokesperson has confirmed to Fortune.”
Wait, what? The headline incontrovertibly says “barge destined for scrap yard”. While the body text walks it back to “partsof the boat”.
The article goes on to say “Google’s three barges sparked a media storm of inquiries when they first appeared in 2013, raising questions about their purpose. Were they floating data centers? A secret lab to design and launch Google’s next stunning project?
No, the company eventually relented: “Google Barge … A floating data center? A wild party boat? A barge housing the last remaining dinosaur? Sadly, none of the above,” a Google spokesperson told TechCrunch back in 2013. “Although it’s still early days and things may change, we’re exploring using the barge as an interactive space where people can learn about new technology.”
Wait, what? Can you see how the headline only mentions one barge, when there are, in fact, three?
All three barges remain operational, with the “hit piece” from Forbes falsely implying that one of the three was scrapped, or, excuse me, destined to be scrapped.

That’s why a fastcompany.com article from November 2014 said “Google Scrapped Mystery Barges Because Of Fire-Safety”.
In October 2015, Time said “Google Parent Company Drops ‘Don’t Be Evil’ Motto”.
In October 2015, fastcompany.com widened its eyes to simulate honesty and explained “Why Google Was Smart To Drop Its “Don’t Be Evil” Motto
In February 2016, express.co.uk said “Google-owned Boston Dynamics reveals terrifying new Terminator robot”.
(Google’s Robotics, er, arm Boston Dynamics has unveiled a new robot – dubbed Atlas – that can power-walk through snow, pick up boxes and get back up when it falls over.)
In March 2018, an article that can not surprisingly no longer locate said “How Google Is Part of the Government and Can Censor Anyone”.
In May 2018, the U.K.’s Independent said “Google Quietly Removes ‘Don’t Be Evil’ Preface from Code of Conduct”.
The subhead reads “Google employees resigned this month over the company’s autonomous weapons project”. Where “autonomous weapons” is Mil-speak for “Terminator Robots”.

In January 2020, CNBC said “Google abandoned its ‘don’t be evil’ mantra, former exec says”.
Where the snide “former exec says” was tacked onto the end to give the subconscious of the Coincidence theorist the green light to say “oh, those former execs will say anything!”
The article goes on to say “Google’s former IR chief said he was “sidelined” after proposing human rights programs as executives considered re-entering China.” Where the blatantly evil, in-human mission of the firm is underscored in a way that grade schoolers in the future will marvel that everyone turned a blind eye to it, here in our time.
Here’s a little sidebar on the Chinese and human rights:
“The Circular Mound Altar, which was built in 1530 and enlarged in 1740. There are two walls walls that encircle the altar. Both walls are painted red and surrounded by blue tiles. The Circular Mound AltarEach wall represents something different. The round inner wall represents heaven while the square outer wall represents earth.”

“After the Emperor signed the declaration that would be read to heaven outside the square wall, he proceeded to the terrace. In the southeast corner, pine and cypress branches were burned in the green-tiled oven to welcome the gods from heaven. To bid farewell to the gods, human sacrifices were burned in the oven. Next to the oven is a special pit called the Pit of Hair and Blood because the hair and blood of the sacrificial victims were buried here.”

Re: “the Pit of Hair and Blood”, I’m not aware of any management changes taking place in China, then to now.
In 2010, Don Croft said “I wonder if the Mongols, in those days, were directly controlled by the dark masters in the Gobi. It’s a subject that institutionalized historians seem to avoid like genital warts, so that means we probably need to dig into it to get a leg up on destroying this ancient corporate parasite that calls itself the New World Order. The psychics in the chats have always seen the dark masters as other than human but not reptilian or draconian. ‘Count Ste. Germaine’ seems to be related to them, as does old, ageless Pindar, the white-haired NSA jerk who had DB shot and one or two others we’ve encountered. These have been the only predators we haven’t been able to affect directly, at least until someone can get out to their Gobi rathole and drop a few dozen earthpipes into the sand from an ultralight airplane. I bet that region was green and fertile when they arrived. They’re kind of like an Algore in that they’re only happy in a lifeless environment, so they make their environment that way.”
But back to the benevolent search engine corporation.
In August 2020, hackernoon.com hesitantly said “Is Google Actually an Evil Corporation***?***
The article goes on to say “As far as conspiracies go, Google does seem to have a CIA connection (see video below).”
Can you see how the author made you click a link, versus just stating the case? That’s an example of the propaganda technique known as “compartmentalization”. No Coincidence theorist is going near that link, you may rest assured. They’ll already have smiled and said “oh, heaven’s, no!” after reading the headline, and never gotten to the body text of the article.
The propagandist knows that many or most readers will grasp virtually any straw, no matter how thin, to remain off the hook of personal responsibility.
