They like to originate things in this city. After all the XP symbol is kept in the San Giorgio al Palazzo church in Via Torino, near here.
What they this on this important cathedral about 2 years ago is less historical but still a first, sneakely the church built a giant electronic luminous billbord for commercial advertising on one side of the Duomo cathedral. (imagine the same done on the leaning tower of Pisa, or the Coliseum, or even the church or landmark in your city).
If the church is so desperate for money whay dont they sell or rent some of their palaces and estates (some of the bishops schools in Lombardy…). I would suggest them installing Cash bank machine for the churches, make a series of pretty credit cards with very classic Francesco and the clown paintings. Indulgence available, pay as you go.
