It’s true, it was a morphing chicken pathogen, however the author omitted the fact that it was morphed by a Chinese bioweapons lab jockey with the help of colleagues from the U.S. As a bonus, the author hid the word “virus” behind the meme “pathogens”.

That’s why a CBS local Baltimore article from August 2014 is headlined “Cause Of Floating Dead Fish In Maryland Waters Remains A Mystery”, and why the subhead goes on to say “Alex DeMetrick reports what triggered the sudden die-off is still guesswork”.
“The city moved fast to remove the die-off, with skim boats collecting hauls more commonly seen on commercial fishing boats and as menhaden and shad died from the Inner Harbor out to the Key Bridge. Maryland’s Department of the Environment says there are no signs of a toxic spill or a classic algae bloom. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s John Tapscott said “we didn’t really see any classic sign and even the oxygen yesterday, there was enough oxygen in the water for the fish to breathe.”
The article continues: “The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science’s Dr. Donald Boesch said “I think it’s pretty certain some kind of combination of nutrients, runoff and organic matter. People fertilizing lawns and gardens, animal waste. Which the author, Alex DeMetrick, helpfully explains “takes rain to move off the hard surfaces into the harbor and bay.”
It’s like two kindly adults working with an elementary school student, when it is in actuality two sociopathic con artists, working with an elementary school student.
“Nutrients”, “runoff”, “organic matter”, “lawn fertilizer” and “organic waste” are a chaff spray of plausible deniability excuses, put forward because the propagandist knows that the subconscious of many or most readers will grasp virtually any straw, no matter how thin, to remain off the hook of personal responsibility.

Most of the small, silvery fish were missing their heads and tails.”
Did you notice that the first article that we reviewed on this fish-killing Op didn’t mention that they were missing their heads and tails? And did you notice that both article describe the State-sponsored environmental terrorism as a “mystery”?

Where “boats”, “disease” and “sudden water temperature changes” are all general. As you may recall, generality is a hallmark of propaganda. They’re plausible-deniability excuses, put forward because the author knows that the subconscious of many or most readers will grasp and straw, no matter how thin, to remain off the hook of personal responsibility.
WTOP is covering up the turtle killing operations by using conscious deception with the firmness of purpose that goes with complete honesty.
In December 2016, FeederWatch covered for the felons who’d released the weaponized finch virus three years previously with this excellent example of what is known in the Intelligence trade as “slow-playing”: “Eye disease in American Goldfinches - Last season a number of FeederWatchers wrote to tell us they were seeing an increase in eye disease in American Goldfinches. ... and it appears that there could be a beginning of this horrible eye disease…”
The Controlled-Opposition propaganda outlet “Feeder Watch” is covering up the barely-covert bird killing operation by using conscious deception with the firmness of purpose that goes with complete honesty.
In January 2017, All About Birds covered for a state-sponsored release of a pathogen weaponized against House Finches by saying “House Finch Eye Disease: Outbreak, Then Understanding”.

In 2017, the Daily Press said striped bass numbers in Chesapeake Bay were “strong”, and that “the population is so healthy that experts consider it recovered”.
In the spring of 2017, there was a complete collapse of the Western Shore benthic community from the Potomac River north to almost the Bay Bridge. Low oxygen levels (dead zones) killed just about everything that lives on the bottom in depths greater than twenty-two feet. The polychaete worms that were once abundant sources of protein for post-spawn stripers are gone from the area.

Maryland Department of Natural Resources scientists Tom Parham and Jim Uphoff may have a clue in solving the mystery.”
The author of the article said “These worms don’t need much oxygen to survive. However, they need a little and they aren’t getting it.“
The premise here is that, in the midst of a healthy, recovered stripe bass population in the Chesapeake, there was for some unknown reason suddenly zero oxygen in that water over a large portion of the bay. When the truth is that something was distributed to kill the worms at the base of the striped bass food chain in that section of the Chesapeake, and then the press release covering up the Op was released, featuring agents Parham and Uphoff. They’re the guys who laid the poison down. They figured the rubes would never notice.

Remember, there’s no mention in the article as to what might have caused oxygen levels to drop to a level of nearly zero over the floor of a large part of the Chesapeake. Only that “something” was “out of balance”, and that it was a “mystery”.
In 2017, a Science Daily article on the second consecutive record seagrass year in the Chesapeake features Professor Robert “JJ” Orth, head of the SAV Monitoring and Restoration Program at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, or VIMS. The author closes the article by saying “Orth and Wilcox temper this positive trend by noting that widgeongrass is a "boom-or-bust" species that has experienced sharp die-offs in past years.
"We keep waiting for the crash," says Orth, "but it hasn't happened. Whether this is because the Bay is getting warmer, making life comfortable for widgeongrass, we don't know."

The article is in Science Daily, and JJ is a Professor of Marine Science, but, strikingly, neither he nor the author can provide any temperature data to back up JJ’s trial balloon about the Bay getting warmer.
Agent Orth plays the global warming card and then refuses to provide any technical details as to why the species dies off catastrophically from time to time, because the grasses were killed off in clandestine operations in which JJ was a team member. He figured the rubes would never notice.
