As I understand it, if you want to vastly reduce EMF from smart meter, the only way to do so is to completely cover the wall-side and other internals of the box including the door in EMF blocking material. This will (or should) stop the meter communicating with its base, and would mean you would then have to manually provide meter readings, and it would probably result in an engineer visiting to check why transmissions aren’t being received.
The engineer may try removing the EMF blocking material, depending on the terms and conditions of your contract with the provider.
