Well, if that’s true, why is an Advance Titan story from that same month, April 29, 2020, headlined “Public trust in media decreases”?
It’s not true. Will is an Illuminist talking-head shill, telling bald-faced lies in a mainstream publication. Because the first rule of politics is “deny, deny, deny”.

Where the strong, fit Media is “wrestling” with the public, you see, and it’s a match they’re going to WIN.
Can you see how “wrestles with” is general? Versus the specific: “trust in the media dropped X% to its lowest level in history”.
The article continues: “Roughly half the country says they don’t trust traditional media, like cable TV and newspapers, very much or at all to accurately deliver information about the novel coronavirus, according to a new Axios/Ipsos poll. That number sinks even lower for digital media and online news companies.”
In a time-honored technique, the author has “buried” the numbers in a table, because it is well known that no-one reads tables. In March of 2020, 53% of the populace distrusted online news about the Covid
And that was in March, when the Op was fresh, and 20% more wholly-credulous rubes were on board than are on board, now. Can you see how they went with the general “roughly half”, to avoid printing a far more impactful percentage?
The words “mystery”, “baffled” and “puzzled” are memes, used, among numerous similar variants, whenever anyone in the wholly-controlled-and-coopted Political, Academic, Scientific and Media establishments wants to lie about, well, basically anything. One of those variants is “surprised”.

The poll finds that the percentage of people saying they trust COVID-19 information from their state or local governments, the news media, social media and their friends and family has dropped significantly compared to similar questions in April. A large chunk of Americans say they find it hard to know if coronavirus information is accurate.
Just 16% say they trust coronavirus information from President Donald Trump a great deal or quite a bit, down from 23% in April. And 64% now say they trust Trump only a little or not at all on COVID-19. Only social media, at 72%, is less trusted.
