The article continues: “Roughly half the country says they don’t trust traditional media, like cable TV and newspapers, very much or at all to accurately deliver information about the novel coronavirus, according to a new Axios/Ipsos poll. That number sinks even lower for digital media and online news companies.”
In a time-honored technique, the author has “buried” the numbers in a table, because it is well known that no-one reads tables. In March of 2020, 53% of the populace distrusted online news about the Covid
And that was in March, when the Op was fresh, and 20% more wholly-credulous rubes were on board than are on board, now. Can you see how they went with the general “roughly half”, to avoid printing a far more impactful percentage?
