A few months ago I had to take a job in a mill operating a giant sewing machine that makes rugs in order to attempt to make ends meet like many other folks are doing in this country . I worked at my last employer for almost 25 years and spent most of my time on a computer as a cost estimator, so this new job presented many new challenges as well as a substantial cut in pay. In all honesty I have to say the working class folks I now work are much nicer, helpful and many have become good friends over the last few months. I must also say they are patient when it comes to helping me learn to use my hands which haven’t been used in this way for many years. Bottom line: I think I kind of like it for now because it always keeps me in stitches, I don’t have carpet burns on my elbows or knees and they haven’t pulled the rug out from under me yet!!!
