Woke up this morning and looked out of my window. All I could see was a COMPLETELY DEEP BLUE SKY.
No noisy helis, no planes and above all not one single spray can in the sky.
Normaly here, when the weather seems to become fine the sprayers take off early before sunrise.
I hope that many parents will go out with their little children today and show them how a really blue sky should look like.

Isn’t it nice Same here, it’s really nice to enjoy some days without a single machine in the air whichever it is! they’re all grounded! I wonder how it must feel for people living in big cities near big airports, I bet they enjoy and will keep enjoying this weekend!

Isn’t it wonderfull? news is it’s going to last for a while, too. What’s more all this POR is make people think about the sudden blue skies as well. I read about Angela Merkel getting a flat tire after being grounded with her plane. That’s how I imagine the fall of the Empire indeed.

Last night at dinner my family discussed the volcano. My brother-in-law said “maybe it will stop global warming.” I replied “the planet’s temperature has cooled 1.7 degrees over the last two years, by the way,” and there was no further discussion of global warming. However I note it here because it immediately struck me “I’ll bet he read that pablum in USA today.”
Kind of like the Hot Rod magazine article I read recently where the author talked about smog in LA in the old days, but how ‘catalytic converters fixed that’.
I guess it doesn’t matter, that there will always be fools who are fooled some of the time.
And that the transparency of ruses will be obvious to others, and eventually enough ‘others’ will notice the ruses that the scale will tip.

Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano has been erupting for nearly a month, but it wasn’t until clouds of ash halted air traffic in Europe this week that the eruption drew global attention. The volcano could continue erupting for months on end – the last time it blew, in 1821, the eruption lasted for two years – so climatologists are questioning whether the volcano will have a cooling effect on the earth’s climate.
When volcanoes erupt, they release sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere, where the gas transforms into sulfuric acid droplets, also known as aerosols, which reflect sunlight. Historically, large volcanic eruptions have caused discernible global cooling. When Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it emitted 17 million tons of sulfur dioxide that caused a 0.5-0.6°C drop in the Northern Hemisphere’s temperature. Mexico’s Mount Chichon eruption in 1982 also had a demonstrable cooling effect."

Just found an interesting picture of the Vulcano. A german guy took a screen shot from a live webcam this morning at 7:50 (Berlin time) and posted it on a
forum because he was fascinated by the shape of the cloud you can see over the smog cloud.
